Description: The Guest Experience Volunteer at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science (Frost Science) will work alongside the Guest Experience team to assist staff by welcoming guests, helping guests with directional and general information, and aiding Guest Experience staff in the exhibit galleries. Must be 16 years or older. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: •Welcome guests to the museum. and answer guests’ questions related to directions, shows and general information to help ensure guests have a positive experience. •Assist Guest Experience staff in the exhibit galleries by helping to direct visitors through specific experiences or by aiding with seating for Planetarium shows. •Receive training and gain knowledge around the content specific to the exhibit galleries. •Assist staff with evaluations to collect visitor feedback. •Assist with the training of other greeter volunteers. Description: We will be recruiting up to 10,000 volunteers to be a central part of our team. Volunteers will be the face of Miami as we host thousands of visitors to town. The Host Committee is looking for a group of high energy, enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about football, the South Florida region, and can commit to three or more shifts during Super Bowl week. Description: Fantasy Theatre Factory, celebrating its 42nd season in the 2019/20 season, is seeking a volunteer who is able to write press releases on behalf of the organization's many campaigns: State-wide and national touring theater for young audiences (including grant funded shows and book give-away, free in-school performances of shows on conservation, sensory friendly matinee), programming at the Sandrell Rivers Theater, Theater Arts Summer Camp, Rental Opportunities, Community Special Events, Co-production and Partnership opportunities, etc. Candidate is able to volunteer in a virtual capacity, or on-site at the Sandrell Rivers Theater, working closely with the organization's leadership team.

Benefits: Volunteer would be recognized on Fantasy Theatre Factory's website, and in playbill/programs. Description: The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs invites members of the community to apply to serve as a volunteer grant panelist. The Department seeks individuals interested in reviewing applications for cultural grant funding from Miami-Dade County, through the Cultural Affairs Council and administered by the Department of Cultural Affairs. Each year the Department of Cultural Affairs relies on the services of many volunteer panelists, who review and evaluate grant applications and make funding recommendations. Panelists help maintain a fair and open process and assist in the continuous development of Miami-Dade County’s artistic and cultural communities by bringing their expertise to the panel review process. Panels are comprised of artists, arts-related professionals, educators, community members, business leaders and others with current or prior active involvement in the arts.

Description: We have 60 free bookshelves full of age-appropriate free books in targeted locations, and deliver approximately 4,500 books per week to keep them stocked. We need volunteers in our office to help us unpack, organize, sticker, and prepare books for our drivers to deliver. Shift sign-up is required. Volunteers can also organize book drives at schools, businesses, and local organizations. Due to the large volume of books we provide to the community, we are always in need of book donations.

Benefits: Volunteering for Read to Learn Books for Free is a great way to get credit for service hours for school or other organizations and also supporting a great cause. By volunteering, you are assisting our program in closing the literacy gap in underprivileged areas of our community. Your service helps us put books in the hands of children who may otherwise not have had access to books in their home.

Description: Orchestra Miami is seeking friendly people to pass out programs, pass out and collect surveys and accept donations at the gate at our annual Beethoven on the Beach free outdoor concerts. There are three concerts: Friday, March 9th, 8 PM @ Pinecrest Gardens (11000 SW 57 Ave); Saturday, March 10th, 8 PM at North Beach Bandshell (7275 Collins Ave) and Sunday, March 11th, 6 PM at Gateway Park (151 SIB Boulevard). Free parking at all venues. Note that these are outdoor concerts, so if you love classical music and enjoy being outdoors, this is perfect for you!

Description: Seeking motivated individuals passionate about the arts and bringing dance to underserved areas of Miami. Need assistance searching for Florida dance festivals, private events, schools, community centers, and venues for master classes, workshops, and performances. We need 30 minutes of your time per week (very flexible on this) to brief and set goals, the rest is up to you!

Benefits: Backstage access to all stage performances, free tickets to all ticketed events, experience in various areas of the nonprofit sphere, and entry level position into a burgeoning arts organization set to expand greatly in the coming years.

Description: Are you energetic? Do you love being part of a team? Do you love classical music? Come be a part of magical experiences that include world-renowned artists, dazzling concerts and the sweeping shapes of Frank Gehry, all in the heart of Miami Beach. Support the arts by sharing your time and energy as volunteers, guides and in many other areas. Make new friends, learn about classical music and gain the satisfaction of helping where you are needed. Come be a part of the New World Symphony Volunteer Corps for the 2017-18 Season! Positions available include: 1. Tour Docent – guiding small tours through the New World Center 2. Usher – assisting guests to their seats and handing out programs 3. Ticket Taker – scanning tickets at the doors before a performance 4. Lobby Ambassador – greeting guests and handing out programs before a performance and during intermission.

Benefits: As a benefit to all volunteers, we invite our volunteers to take a vacant seat in the performance hall to enjoy the performance or event. There is a 10-hour minimum amount of hours required to volunteer in a season.

MIAMI SHORTS SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR MONTHLY SCREENINGS - MIAMI SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

Description: Miami short Film Festival is a film festival based in Miami, Florida that features short films of 20-minutes or less each. A growing movement to exhibit and expand the art form of short film making providing a venue to build community around the arts. We are seeking motivated young professionals (preferrably ages 24+) to volunteer at our monthly film screenings. These individuals will be ushering and greeting guests, managing the ticket booth and assisting the film makers. The screenings take place on the last Wednesday of every month between 7 and 10 PM.
