For example an account to help you do a budget, a social media expert to help you build a facebook event page, a marketing professional to help you design a marketing plan for one performance or event.


BUSKERFEST MIAMI STREET PERFORMANCE FESTIVAL 2017 - BUSKERFEST MIAMI

Description: Volunteers are what keep the Buskerfest Miami heart pumping. We are always in need of thoughtful individuals who enjoy live concert production and love community building. To join our volunteer ranks, complete the simple form on our website. Shifts available 2:00PM – 10:00PM day of festival Example responsibilities: Check-in volunteers; hand-out volunteer packs, schedules and location assignments Able to answer questions about festival, discounts, schedules, etc. Keep areas of egress clear Direct people to performance areas Be familiar with performer schedule and keep things on track Be ready to assist as needed in making way for performers, etc. Hand out Passports to attendees Explain to attendees the purpose of the Passport Place sticker on attendees’ passports in appropriate circles Encourage people to explore the other stops, local businesses and stay for the FREE concert in Bayfront Park! Have fun!

Benefits: Volunteers get to work directly with the performers and event staff, learn more about downtown and the local arts community and are entitled to awesome Buskerfest Miami swag, including an awesome T-shirt, nylon backpack and more! We also host a thank you party to which all performers and volunteers are welcome to attend!

WEEK OF SHOW VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! - THE HAUNTED BALLET

OPENING WEEKEND AT THE BASS! - THE BASS MUSEUM

Description: Miami Beach’s contemporary art museum is back and will open its newly transformed space to the public on Sunday, October 29, 2017 with solo exhibitions by Ugo Rondinone and Pascale Marthine Tayou. These exhibitions debut following a major renovation of the museum, which has increased programmable space by nearly 50 percent within the existing footprint, creating a new internal structure with four additional galleries, a museum shop, café and designated education facility. With this said, we have plenty of volunteer opportunities for our opening week events. We will need greeters, crowd control, set up and break down, registration assistance. Description: Due to Hurrican Irma, Viernes was required to change the date of their annual gala. They are seeking a motivated professional to work with the Director of Viernes and plan their 2017 celebration Gala. This includes decorations, food & drinks, attendee list, etc. Participants must be able to lift boxes and carry various items to prepare for event.

Description: The Arts & Business Council is seeking energetic volunteer to assist with our Creative Happy Hour at the Toro Toro in Downtown Miami. Volunteers will be asked to greet guests, direct them from the lobby to the event space, and assist with registration and set-up.

GARDEN CLEAN-UP AND HORTICULTURE VOLUNTEER - PINECREST GARDENS

Description: Pinecrest Gardens welcomes volunteers Monday- Friday from 9AM-4PM, as well as select Saturdays monthly. Volunteers will be working with our horticulture staff with debris clean-up and horticulture work. This may include raking, picking up fallen branches/leaves/debris, rescuing plants (removing from the ground and repotting), pruning and general gardening tasks.

Benefits: Volunteers will have access to free parking and water. Also, they are welcome to stay and enjoy the garden for the day.

WORK SIDE-BY-SIDE WITH PATRICK DOUGHERTY AT PINECREST GARDENS - PINECREST GARDENS

Description: Fine Art & nature lovers, we need your help! We are calling for volunteer to work side-by-side with internationally acclaimed enviromental artist, Patrick Dougherty. To complete this sculpture on schedule we will need 10 volunteers each day (5 volunteers 8AM-12PM & 5 volunteers 1PM-5PM) from November 2-20 with the exception of November 11 &12. We will welcome your involvement for a half day or as many days as you can spare. Volunteer must over 16 years of age. Depending on your physical abilities, we will need leaf stripping crews and light construction crews.

Benefits: Volunteers will have access to free parking and water. Also, they are welcome to stay and enjoy the garden for the day.

Description: Seeking motivated individuals passionate about the arts and bringing dance to underserved areas of Miami. Need assistance searching for Florida dance festivals, private events, schools, community centers, and venues for master classes, workshops, and performances. We need 30 minutes of your time per week (very flexible on this) to brief and set goals, the rest is up to you!

Benefits: Backstage access to all stage performances, free tickets to all ticketed events, experience in various areas of the nonprofit sphere, and entry level position into a burgeoning arts organization set to expand greatly in the coming years.

Come be a part of magical experiences that include world-renowned artists, dazzling concerts and the sweeping shapes of Frank Gehry, all in the heart of Miami Beach. Support the arts by sharing your time and energy as volunteers, guides and in many other areas. Make new friends, learn about classical music and gain the satisfaction of helping where you are needed. Come be a part of the New World Symphony Volunteer Corps for the 2017-18 Season! Positions available include: 1. Tour Docent – guiding small tours through the New World Center 2. Usher – assisting guests to their seats and handing out programs 3. Ticket Taker – scanning tickets at the doors before a performance 4. Lobby Ambassador – greeting guests and handing out programs before a performance and during intermission.

Benefits: As a benefit to all volunteers, we invite our volunteers to take a vacant seat in the performance hall to enjoy the performance or event. There is a 10-hour minimum amount of hours required to volunteer in a season.

Description: Miami short Film Festival is a film festival based in Miami, Florida that features short films of 20-minutes or less each. A growing movement to exhibit and expand the art form of short film making providing a venue to build community around the arts. We are seeking motivated young professionals (preferrably ages 24+) to volunteer at our monthly film screenings. These individuals will be ushering and greeting guests, managing the ticket booth and assisting the film makers. The screenings take place on the last Wednesday of every month between 7 and 10 PM.
